Movie Meme Day 2-Film More People Should Have Saw

Hello I am the movie encyclopedia and if no one else will see it, I will.

Day 2 of the meme is a film more people should have saw. I chose House on Haunted Hill. Before groaning let me explain. I chose it for these reasons:
  • It's darkly funny
  • It's creepy but not weird
  • The backstory is well developed
  • The effects are good
  • The acting is great
  • The writing is too
  • The soundtrack is better than both
  • Ghost hospital!!
Every time it's on MTV 2 I watch it...but nobody else will..sad...

Movie Meme Day 1-Sequel That Should Never have been Made

Hello I am the movie encyclopedia and if no one else will see it, I will.

Now I am a glutton for punishment and if I wasn't already busy enough, I might as well make myself busier. Between PAX, the 1 year anniversary and all the other things going on I've barely had any time to sleep, let alone write. But Meme's and Haul's are really easy to do and as soon as I get my camera fixed I'll do more Haul's. But since my TV meme went over so well (or so I think) I figure I'll take on this one, on the one exception that unlike the TV one I am not going to go overboard. Short and sweet posts. I got lots of stuff to do.

The first day is A Sequel That Should Have Never Been Made. It would have been easy for me to say Indiana Jones 4, Matrix Reloaded, Porky's 2 ect but I think since it almost ruined his career and the legacy of the first film I am going with Teen Wolf Too starring Jason Bateman.

Bateman really phoned it in and the story lacked any of the depth, humor or heartfelt feelings the original had. No wonder Bateman went into hiding until arrested development.

The Walking Dead Review-Intro

Hello I am the movie encyclopedia and if no one else will see it, I will.

I have always been fascinated by comics. The style, the pictures, the wording and the way the words are spread across a page, it's all breathtaking. I am by no means a huge comic reader but every now and again I will find a comic that really draws me in and makes me want to read it. Along with Scott Pilgrim, this year I have been engulfed by the entity known as The Walking Dead.

This Eisner award winning series has been going on since 2003 and it wasn't until my purchasing of the first Compendium containing the first four books last month that I became a fan. I mean I've heard about it from all of my comic loving friends and as a zombie film lover I've certainly heard plenty about it from various zombie related news sources but I had never gotten into reading it. Usually when I read a comic it is the entire series packed into one or two books. For me having to wait and wait is killer, especially if the writing is good. That's partially the reason I stopped reading most comics or graphic novels, there was just too much wait. But while I was waiting in Borders one day I found a copy of the first Compendium and after flipping through it, I had to buy it.
On top of that AMC and Frank Darabont, director of The Shawshank Redemption, have teamed up to make a television adaptation of it. And since I am a television critic as well as a film critic, it was hard for me to pass up this chance in case October roles around and I need some filler for my review of the first season.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be covering the Walking Dead in great detail. There will be spoilers, there will be lengthy paragraphs but I can assure you it will certainly be interesting. Unlike my play by plays I do, I'm keeping this condensed, easy to follow and I will cover all the aspects from plot to character development to art style and even how the zombies behave. The best part about the Walking Dead though is that it's broken up into chapters. Right now it's in the middle of Chapter 13 as we speak and so I think having each article be about each chapter will really be able to bring you all in and ease you into TWD.
The way I'm splitting it up is into a few different categories:
  1. Plot Outline-Where I try to give a to the point overview of what happens during that Chapter.
  2. Character Developments/New Characters-Where I talk about each character, how they are growing/developing/changing and how they are dealing with the events in this chapter. Usually I'll split it up by character, making it easier for you to understand
  3. Action-How much action and suspense is in the chapter
  4. Zombies-How the zombies behaved and acted in this chapter
  5. Art Style-Where I analyze the ever changing art style of TWD
Hopefully you will all enjoy this, be sure to leave comments/concerns or questions in the bottom and I can't wait to bring you on this continuing adventure of Survival.
