For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Hello I am the movie encyclopedia and if no one else will see it, I will.
Maybe it was the sugary sodas, the countless hours of video games or the shows on tv but I love action movies. They have a knack for being short, sweet and to the point. And for the most part, unless they suck, they explain their entire plot in the first couple minutes or screw the whole plot altogether. Well the punisher series decided to break it up into two different movies. One would be cleaner, more Hollywood-y and give Franks orgin story...and the other would be ninety minutes of him killing people endlessly with about 20 minutes scattered throughout the film to give it a "plot". And luckily they dont try anything funny.
When i say that it means they stick to the comics as closely as possible. The art style, the painstaking cinematography, the sound design, its all like you are inside a comic book. And so to keep that style they dont bore the movie viewers with a deep plot, just one thats good and long enough to keep us interested.

The Punisher kills criminals
The Punisher accidently kills an undercover FBI agent'
He feels bad
Meanwhile this guy wants to get revenge on The Punisher by killing him
Punisher befriends widow and kid
Guy sees this and kidnaps them
All the while two comic relief cops are there to keep us laughing.
See thats it. And for what its worth and inbetween all the blood its actually pretty well done. The soundtrack consisting of Slayer, Slipknot and other metal bands also helps amp up the mood. The special effects are good and the movie does a good job displaying them.

The acting is better than most action movies and is quite engaging. The cops are actually funny, Castle (punisher) isnt a pussy like in the first movie, the villain and his goons are really over the top evil, and Wayne Knight makes an appearance as a "sidekick" of sorts in the way of a weapons dealer and he ends up doing better than I thought.
To me, its worth a look. But if you are on the fence, watch this scene. If you like it, rent it. If you dont then skip this review and go onto a different movie.

MY VERDICT: RENT IT
