Mad Hot Ballroom is the Academy Award Nominated Nickelodeon documentary that follows a ten week dance class for underprivlaged kids in New York. It follows the exploits of a mostly Asian school, a mostly Hispanic school, and a African American/White school. It mostly centers around the lives of the children and their thoughts and insights on life as well as their devotion to the class and them ultimatley becoming better people. Most of the kids are quite charming and have lots of funny stories to tell. Its especially funny when they start talking about love and dating...even though they are only in the 5th grade. The teachers are quite passionate and DEFINETLY characters all on their own.

The dancing is energetic, the plot is engaging, I was drawn in from the first minute and I never got bored. Its a short movie, and it kind of ends abruptly. It has some slow moments but overall its a pretty decent kids documentary. How can you go wrong with a movie about cute kids?
