The story of bird migration is the story of promise - a promise to return.
Hello I am the movie encyclopedia and if no one else will see it, I will.
Winged Migration was a 2002 Academy Award nominated nature documentary. It showed the migration patterns of dozens and dozens of species of bird showing how they live, their journey and what they do once they get there. There is little dialogue with most of the movie being told through subtitles. They let nature do the talking.
Honestly I had nothing against this movie except that it was boring to me. I know a lot of people love the discovery channel and love nature shows and movies like Planet Earth or Earth (or some different nature movie) but I just dont care for them. I need something...anything to draw me in. They bounce from bird to bird to bird so quickly I dont know what Im seeing.
I will say though it has some of the best cinematography and original music that Ive ever seen and heard in my life. There is very little to no special effects in this documentary and some of the angles and closeups are breathtaking. It really is a privlage to take a look at such an honest and true represntation of the birds.
So if you did like Planet Earth or love really good cinematography and music then see this movie.
MY VERDICT: RENT IT
