Bruce Willis is one of those actors that makes anything look effortless. He can be a 40-50 year old guy and still do crazy wild action stunts. Maybe thats what makes him such an action icon because unlike Sly Stallone and Arnold he doesnt get sad as he ages with his movies. There is no pity for old Bruce here.
Live Free or Die Hard is the fourth in the long running and memorable series. It shows the return of John McClaine in a really interesting way. Usually if a film series is three movies deep then the fourth one could be seriously frowned upon. But the story is orignial, timely and provides a good and realistic possibility of things to come. It also doesnt take itself too seriously with the other main character being a boy genius hacker played by the master of timing Justin Long. He provides sarcastic and witty dialogue throughout that keeps the movie quite interesting. Then throw in Kevin Smith in a great cameo part and you got some good comedy here. But Timothy Olyphant plays a great villian in this movie being both sly and devlish but not over the top.
Its a smart and well written action movie that Id reccomend to anyone who loves action movies, Bruce Willis, Justin Long, or just wants something good to watch when there is nothing else on.
MY VERDICT: SEE IT
